Welcome! Thanks for your interest in 201 Go-Kart Speedway. Track Management will make every effort to provide racers and spectators with an enjoyable and safe racing event. Management retains the right to refuse any individual to race if it is deemed that the participant or their racing equipment could be of danger to themselves, other racers or anyone in attendance. This could be due to age, lack of experience, or other reasons. This is a sport for the entire family, either as participants or spectators. Although the competition is fierce, it should always be remembered that we do this for fun. So we hope you have fun at 201!

1. General Track Policies

Rule Changes: There will be no rule changes made during the racing season concerning technical rules for engines. Any changes in this area will be instituted at the beginning of the season only. However, the track reserves the right to make safety rule changes at any time in order to insure safe racing. Classes and operational procedures may be changed as needed in order to maintain smooth operation of the racing program.

Important Times: Races are held every Saturday afternoon, beginning at 1:00 PM. Gates will open at 11:00 AM. Late entries will be required to start at the rear of the field in both heat races. Safety meeting will be held at 1:00 PM. All drivers and parent/guardian of minor drivers must attend the meeting.

Admission Fees: Pit Passes are $10.00. Driver Pit Passes are $20.00. Everyone in pit area must purchase a pit pass wristband and must sign release form.

Rain-Outs: If weather prevents all of the first heats to be completed, it will be called a “Rain-Out”. Rain-Outs are the track flagman’s call. Everyone can receive a refund upon showing proof of paid admission. All refunds must be collected on the same day of the rain-out. If all first heat races are completed, it will be considered a “Completed Event”. Drivers who finish both heats will be awarded points based on their heat finishes.

Conduct: It is the responsibility of parents or guardians of smaller children to supervise them carefully so that they do not get injured or interfere with other’s enjoyment. We encourage keeping smaller children in the spectator area if possible for their own safety. No bicycles are allowed except to enter into or to exit from the facility. Any un-sportsmanlike conduct will be grounds for removal from the premises.

The combined finishes in heats will determine the line-up for the feature. In case of a tie for a position in the feature race, the driver with the best finish in the first heat will get the advantage. Restarts after the first lap will be single file.

Weigh-In: All karts will stop on the scales as they leave the track. Weight must meet or exceed the minimum weight for that particular class. Failure to meet the minimum weight will result in disqualification for that race. No tolerance allowed. Driver must sit still on kart while weighing.

No one is allowed inside the track safety fence while racing is under way. Any kart that leaves the track for any reason during a race will not be allowed to return to the track during the race. Any unsafe driving anywhere on the premises will result in a black flag for the driver.

Management reserves the right to protest any engine. To protest another driver’s engine, take $50 to the tech person or other track official and show them the engine you want to protest. This must be done no later than 15 minutes after the end of the feature race for the engine being protested. Protestor must be in the same feature race. The official will inform the driver that his/her engine has been protested. At that time, they may accept the protest or forfeit their finishing position. If accepted, the tech person will then take a methanol sample from the engine and may test it with distilled water method. The driver being protested will be informed by the official that he/she has 10 minutes to remove the engine from the kart, drain the oil and fuel, and present the engine tot the official for tech. The official will observe the process to make sure that the engine is not tampered with during removal and draining. Any tampering with the protested engine will make it illegal. The official will take the engine to the tech room. There will be an appointed tech person and at least one alternate. The protested driver may choose which one does the inspection. The only persons allowed in the tech room during inspection are the engine owner, the person who placed the protest, the chosen tech person, and the track owner. If an illegal part is found at any point in the inspection, the inspection will be stopped at that point and the engine will be declared illegal. If legal, $25 goes to the tech person and $25 to the engine owner. If illegal, $25 goes to the tech person and $25 to the protestor. If an engine is found illegal, the racer loses any money and points earned at that racing event. If the racer of an illegal engine returns to another event, he/she must pay $25 to the track management before he/she will be allowed to enter or participate in any race. Management will return the $25 to the protestor.
